Challenge
Women in Prison needed to mark its 40th anniversary with something that went beyond a celebration: a digital space that would honour its legacy, deepen public understanding of its mission, and inspire a new generation of changemakers. The timeline had to speak to both internal and external audiences, reflect decades of work, and centre the voices and values that have defined the organisation from the start. One of the key challenges was shaping a vast archive of material into a coherent, accessible narrative, one that could capture the depth of WIP’s impact while staying true to its radical roots.

Approach
We built a microsite designed to guide users through 40 years of history with clarity and purpose. Drawing on Women in Prison’s physical archive, we helped craft a digital journey that highlighted milestones, people, and campaigns while our design team developed a bold, cohesive visual language that could tie everything together. From typography and colour palettes to layouts and motion elements, every design decision was rooted in the values of the organisation: care, courage, and collective power.

We also ensured the content had a life beyond the site. Visual assets and video materials were created with adaptability in mind, designed to be repurposed for social media, outreach, and future campaigns, helping the timeline continue to engage and inform long after launch.
